Hello,
We're running a non-clustered SQL 2000 (SP3) on a Windows 2000 server (SP4).
We are currently experiencing the EXACT symptoms as described in the
following Microsoft article ->
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;246679
I've applied Option2 of the resolution but it doesn't seem to help:
If I look at the event logs, I see messages that the service was
successfully removed & reinstalled. I'm also able to stop & start the
service.
But if I try to open Component Services, I'm presented with the following
error message:
***********************************************************************
Catalog Error
An error occurred while processing the last operation.
Error code 80080005 - Server execution failed
***********************************************************************
If I look in the application log, I see this:
***********************************************************************
Event Type: Error
Event Source: COM+
Event Category: SVC
Event ID: 4097
Date: 11/11/2004
Time: 8:10:29 AM
User: N/A
Computer: DB2
Description:
The run-time environment has detected an inconsistency in its internal
state. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this
error. Error in .\dtcinfo.cpp(106), hr = 8004d01b:
TransactionManager->GetWhereabouts
***********************************************************************
Has anyone had any success with this article? Any other things I should try?
I'm not a database guy so sorry if I've omitted any other relevant info.
The only other thing I can think of is that I applied the 'fix' when I was
logged in thru Terminal Service. Would that cause any issues?
TIA
Regards,
VeetsAll,
I also found the following article ->
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;301919
I'll check it out & post back the results.
