MSDTC service does not install with developer edition?

Ok I have tried this on a 2000 server box and an XP Pro box and both times
it has our Developer edition SQL install has not installed (service is not
listed) nor is their an .exe. Any ideas? Is our dev edition image hosed?
Check SQLSTP.LOG for more information on this failure.
Because some services may cause installation failure of SQL Server due to a Windows NT/2000 logon failure or time out, you should stop these services before installing SQL Server 2000, and then restart them once SQL Server has been successfully installed.
Stop the following services:
IIS - Internet Information Server
Exchange Server
SNA Server
Disk Keeper
SNMP Service
Anti-virus software (such as McAfee)
Backup products (such as ARC Server)
If you cannot install MS DTC on a server with multiple network cards or SPX installed, uninstall one of the network cards or SPX, and then retry the SQL Server Setup.
Check the following files:
sqlstp.log (located in your \Windows or \WinNT directory)
errorlog file (located in the \Log directory of the target installation directory)
setup.log file (located in your \Windows or \WinNT directory)

|||MSDTC is a Operating System component, and does not get installed by SQL
Server since SQL Server 6.5.
