MSSQL 2000 connection problem, please help
After attaching MSSQL 2000 SP3 server into domain,
Local Admin and SA cannot login into MSSQL
EM and QA are not working.
"Change the MSSQLServer service account to be a domain account. Make this
domain account a member of the
Local Administrators group on the machine." - Tried, but no chance.
Hi
If SA can't login and you have not changed the password, it means that SQL
Server is not running. Check in control panel > services and also check the
NT event log to see what the failures are.

When you have another application that can use the SQL server, have you
then tried to connect to the instance from EM using the account this

When you have another application that can use the SQL server, have you
then tried to connect to the instance from EM using the account this
application is using? You could also check which account you have
registered in EM for connecting to the instance. Have you tried to to
create a new SQL server registration in EM using Windows Authentication
(while logged on to the server with an account that is local
administrator on the server.

MSOLAP Connection error
I have RS with sp1 in one server and MS Analysis server with sp3 in another.
Both inside of Domain and the user is the administrator. Also I have the
correct roles in the AS.
I got this error:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'Sales_MDX_Colinas23'. Database
'Sales' does not exist.
In the dev. env works fine and also if AS is in the same server as RS.
The problem is when AS and RS are in different server.
Does some one knows whats wrong?
Thanks in advanceDid you get a solution for this. I have the same problem?

MSDTC Fails
One is part of domain but the other one is not part of any domain.
MSDTC failed to communicate with error msg 7391.
Followed the instruction as mentioned in KB-329332, but still failed.
Followed the instruction as mentioned in KB-827805 but failed too. In
KB-827805, it only tells to add the registry with value name
"TurnOffRpcSecurity". Is it the only thing to do ?
OR both server must be run under the same domain.
Can any SQL Server MVP or Microsoft technical support persons help ?

DTC access are already enable by default.
When I put the two servers to the same domain, MSDTC works beautifully. But
why Windows 2003 has this restriction.
